High Level Examination Security Task Force: New Initiative for Transparency, Technology and Credibility in India's Examination System
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the formation of a high-level Examination Security Task Force to make competitive and recruitment examinations more secure, transparent and reliable. This committee will be chaired by Nandan Nilekani and includes experts from the fields of education, technology, science, administration and security. The task force will recommend technological reforms such as AI based surveillance, biometric verification, encrypted digital question papers and stronger cyber security to prevent paper leaks, impersonation and cyber fraud. The committee includes Amrit Lal Meena (Administration), Anita Karwal (Education), Dr. V. Kamakoti (Artificial Intelligence and Technology), S. Experts like Somnath (Science and Space Technology) and Tapan Deka (Internal Security and Intelligence) are included. This multidisciplinary structure will be helpful in holistically addressing the various dimensions of examination security.
Main objectives and proposed reforms
The main objective of the task force is to effectively prevent incidents like paper leaks, examination fraud and impersonation. For this, modern technological measures like Artificial Intelligence (AI) based surveillance, biometric verification, encrypted digital question paper distribution, real-time monitoring, cyber security system and secure logistics system will be recommended. These reforms are expected to increase transparency, accountability and efficiency in the examination process.
Importance in governance and education system
This initiative is an important step towards connecting India's digital public infrastructure and e-governance with the education sector. This will increase transparency in examinations like UPSC, SSC, RRB, NEET, JEE, CUET, Banking and State Public Service Commissions and strengthen the confidence of eligible candidates. This initiative also strengthens the objective of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 to have a quality and accountable education system.
